Constipation Advice

What is Fybogel and how does it work?

There may be times when dietary measures are not enough to relieve your constipation:

  • you may find fibre-rich foods difficult to take
  • there may be times when it is difficult to eat a high fibre diet e.g. when you are on holiday
  • you have changed your diet, but your constipation persists

In cases such as these, Fybogel is an easy, convenient way to increase your fibre intake as it is a pleasant-tasting drink containing a concentrated natural fibre - ispaghula husk.

Ispaghula husk is a natural laxative that passes relatively unchanged through your body to your colon where the soft fibre mass helps the bowel to pass waste more easily and comfortably. Your bowel function should return to normal within a day or two.

Fybogel works in harmony with your body in the same way as any other natural dietary fibre, but it is about five times better at absorbing water than bran resulting in softer stools which are easier to pass.
